Neither. We take no deposit and we do not need a credit card — you pay when we hand you the keys in Stalis, in cash or by card. It is the main reason people book with us instead of at an airport desk.
It is one of the better ones. You are on the old national road with Hersonissos and Malia either side, Heraklion and Knossos half an hour west, and the Lasithi Plateau climbing away to the south. Nothing on the north coast between Rethymno and Agios Nikolaos is more than about an hour.
Stalida sits between Hersonissos and Malia on the old coast road, roughly thirty-five minutes from Heraklion Airport. Everything on this coast is within twenty minutes of it, and the mountain road to Mochos and the Lasithi Plateau turns off just behind the village.
